European Infrastructure

Stackpad runs entirely on European infrastructure with no US cloud provider dependencies. This page explains what that means for your data and compliance.

Where your data lives

All Stackpad infrastructure runs on Hetzner Cloud, a German cloud provider with data centers across multiple European locations. Your application containers, databases, backups, logs, and all other data are stored exclusively on Hetzner’s European infrastructure.

No US dependencies

Stackpad does not use any US cloud providers:

  • No AWS, GCP, or Azure — not even for CDN, DNS, or storage
  • No US-based SaaS in the data path — no Datadog, no CloudFlare, no Vercel
  • No CLOUD Act exposure — US law enforcement cannot compel a US company to hand over your data, because no US company holds your data

This is fundamentally different from US platforms that offer an “EU region” — those platforms are still US companies subject to US law, regardless of where the servers are located.

GDPR compliance

Stackpad is designed for GDPR compliance:

Data residency

All personal data is stored and processed within the EU. There are no international data transfers.

Data processing

Stackpad processes data only as necessary to provide the platform services. There is no data mining, no analytics on customer data, and no sharing with third parties.

Right to deletion

When you delete a project, service, or organization, all associated data is permanently removed:

  • Container images and build artifacts
  • Database data and backups
  • Environment variables and secrets
  • Logs and metrics
  • Account data (upon organization deletion)

Data processor agreement

Stackpad is a product of slashslash B.V., a Dutch software company. slashslash B.V. acts as a data processor for your application data under GDPR Article 28.
