Account Security & 2FA
Stackpad supports two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account. When enabled, you need both your password and a code from your authenticator app to log in.
Enabling two-factor authentication
- Go to User Settings → Security
- Click Enable 2FA
- Enter your password to confirm your identity
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, or any TOTP-compatible app)
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app to verify
- Save your backup codes — you’ll get 10 single-use codes for emergency access
Logging in with 2FA
After entering your email and password, you’ll be prompted for a 6-digit code. Enter the current code from your authenticator app to complete login.
Backup codes
Backup codes are 10 single-use codes generated when you enable 2FA. Use one if you can’t access your authenticator app:
- Each code can only be used once
- You can download or copy them from the Security settings page
- You can regenerate backup codes at any time (this invalidates all previous codes)
Disabling 2FA
- Go to User Settings → Security
- Click Disable 2FA
- Enter your password to confirm
Supported authenticator apps
Any app that supports TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) works:
- Google Authenticator
- 1Password
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Bitwarden
